В статье представлена проблематика эмпирических исследований власти в городских сообществах; выделяются основные вопросы, вокруг которых строились эмпирические исследования (какие группы обладают наибольшим влиянием в городских сообществах, каковы основания и формы проявления их власти, какие методы исследования являются оптимальными и др.). Специальное внимание уделяется изменениям, происходящим в проблематике эмпирических исследований по мере эволюции данной отрасли политической науки и социологии, и проблемному полю современных исследований власти и городских режимов.

A set of problems in the study of power in urban communities have been classified and discussed (which groups dominate in local politics, what are the bases and manifestations of their influence, how to study power in communities etc.) Special attention has been paid to the evolution of the aims and problems in the study of power in communities and modern research models.
