Глобализация и политизация групповых различий, маркетизация и консьюмеризация политики - все это ведет к фрагментации современных политий и представляет собой вызов для универсалистских национальных государств как паттерна политического порядка эпохи модерна. В статье представлен обзор исследовательской повестки по проблеме институциональной устойчивости фрагментированных политий. Сделан вывод о том, что фрагментированный порядок является значительно более проблематичным феноменом, нежели универсалистский, так как его устойчивость определяется сложной констелляцией самых разнообразных факторов.

Globalization and politization of group differences, marketization and consumerism - all these lead to the fragmentation of contemporary polities and challenge universalist nation-state as a basic pattern of political order in Modernity. The article reviews research agenda on the issues of institutional sustainability of fragmented polities and comes to the conclusion that fragmented order is a much more problematic phenomenon than universalist political order of nation-state, since its sustainability is determined by a complex constellation of different factors.
