В статье анализируются институциональные проблемы этнической федерации на примере дезинтеграции югославской государственности. Автор рассматривает основные факторы распада СФРЮ и появления независимых Хорватии и Боснии: экономическое неравенство между республиками, экономический национализм, ослабление центральной власти и фрагментация правящей партии – Союза Коммунистов Югославии.

The article analyzes the disintegration of Yugoslav statehood focusing on institutional problems of ethnic federation. The author describes main factors of the collapse of the Yugoslav Federation and the emergence of independent Bosnia and Croatia. Economic inequality between republics, economic nationalism, the weakening of the center and the communist party fragmentation are examined.
