В статье анализируется феномен теории заговора как инструмент популистской риторики, характерный для современных политических идеологий. На примере двух кейсов из актуальной политической истории США и России делается вывод об универсальности данного явления в политическом дискурсе двух стран, а также об особенностях бытования и распространения теорий заговора в публичном пространстве каждой из них.

The article examines the phenomenon of conspiracy theory as a tool of the populist rhetoric which is characteristic of political ideologies in contemporary world. Based on the current cases from American and Russian political history the author concludes that conspiracy theories are commonly used in political debates and ideologies of both of the countries. However, certain particularities in political cultures of Russia and the U.S. impact their development and further promotion in public discourse.
